Jifan Gao

Gao Jifan, Chairman and CEO of Changzhou Trina Solar Ltd. (TSL). Mr. Gao currently serves as Vice Chairman of New Energy Chamber of Commerce of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Executive Director of China National Renewable Energy Institute, Deputy Director of Professional Committee of Solar Buildings, Executive Vice President of Photovoltaic Industry Association of Jiangsu province, Deputy to the People's Congress of Changzhou and member of board of directors of Fudan University. He has also won the Labor Award and many other honorary titles.

In 1997, in the wake of Kyoto Conference and the global climate warming, Mr. Gao, with his keen vision and a strong sense of mission, founded Trina Solar, ushering in the development of China's photovoltaic industry, and becoming one of leaders in photovoltaic industry of China. He has been dedicating to the technological innovation and market promotion of the photovoltaic industry ever since. Under his leadership, Trina Solar created the first solar model room in the country, established 39 stand-alone photovoltaic power stations in Tibet, and built the first 10 KW photovoltaic power plant (Trina Solar Roofs Station) in Jiangsu province. Mr. Gao has vigorously promoted the process of China's renewable energy and green economic development. Trina Solar was successfully listed in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in December 2006. Mr. Gao earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Nanjing University in 1985. He graduated from Jilin University with a Master of Science degree in physical chemistry in 1988, and was student of China’s celebrated scholar in chemistry Dr. Aoqing Tang.

Independent Directors
Liping Qiu

Mr. Liping Qiu has been a director of our company since May 2006. He is a co-founder of Milestone Capital, a China-focused private equity investment company, and the general partner of Milestone China Opportunities Fund I and Fund II, L.P, a partnership that invests primarily in high-growth Chinese companies, since 2002. In 2001, Mr. Qiu was Bear Stearns's Beijing Office Representative, responsible for investment banking operations in China. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Qiu was at Merrill Lynch's direct investment group and corporate finance group in Beijing and Hong Kong. Mr. Qiu received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in engineering from the National University of Defense Technology of China in 1984 and 1986, respectively.

Jerome Corcoran
Mr. Jerome Corcoran has been an independent director of our company since December 18, 2006. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Corcoran was a managing director at Merrill Lynch's China Private Equity Group in Beijing, China. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Corcoran had served as a managing director and the head of international investment banking of Merrill Lynch in New York and London. Mr. Corcoran retired from his investment banking career in 1998 and has been managing his personal wealth since his retirement. Mr. Corcoran received his bachelor's degree in political philosophy from Loyola University in 1971 and his MBA degree from St John's University in 1974.

Qian Zhao
Mr. Qian Zhao has been an independent director of our company since May 18, 2007.Mr. Zhao is a founding partner of CXC China Sustainable Growth Fund, a private equity fund that makes investments in China –based companies. He is also a managing director of CXC Capital, Inc. which is the management company of CXC China Sustainable Growth Fund. Mr. Zhao co-founded Haiwen & Partners, a preeminent China corporate finance law firm in Beijing, and was a senior partner of the law firm. He worked in Sullivan & Cromwell LLP’s New York office from 1996 to 2000, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates’ Beijing office from 2000 to 2003. He is admitted to practice law in both China and New York. Mr. Zhao received his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law in 1997 and his LL.B from University of International Business & Economics, Beijing in 1990. Mr. Zhao also served on the board of SouFun Holdings Limited from 2010, and on the board of Camelot Information System Inc. from October 2011.

Dr. Yeung Kwok On
Dr. Yeung Kwok On has been an independent director of our company since August 6, 2010. Dr. Yeung is the Philips Chair Professor of Human Resource Management and Director of Centre of Organization and People Excellence at China Europe International Business School (“CEIBS”). He was also the founding director of CEO Learning Consortium, a learning platform where CEOs from more than 30 leading firms in China joined together to share the best practices on issues critical to business growth and success in China. At CEIBS, he has received numerous teaching awards. Before his return to academia, Dr. Yeung served as Chief Learning Officer and Chief HR Officer of Acer Group from January 1999 to June 2002. Dr. Yeung is author of eight books and dozens of articles. Dr. Yeung’s research focuses on building organizational capability for strategic implementation, accelerating globalization of Chinese firms, growing leadership talent for business growth, and leading large-scale organizational transformation. He has received several research awards and is on the editorial board of several magazines, including Talent and Strategy Journal (USA), Human Resource Management Journal (USA), Harvard Business Review (China), Human Relations Journal (U.S.A.), and Thunderbird International Business Review (USA). In addition to his research and teaching career, Dr. Yeung also serves as a board director at Kingdee International Software Group and SITC, both are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and an independent director of two private companies. He was also elected as ex-officio board member for Human Resource Planning Society, the leading association for senior HR executives in the United States. Dr. Yeung also teaches regularly in executive programs in association with Harvard, INSEAD, and The University of Michigan. Dr. Yeung received his bachelor and master degrees in management from the University of Hong Kong and Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from the University of Michigan.

Chow Wai Kwan Henry
Mr. Henry Chow has been an independent director of our company since July 1, 2012. Prior to his retirement from IBM in 2009, Mr. Chow served in numerous executive positions in the Asia Pacific region, and was most recently general manager and then chairman of the IBM Greater China Group. He also served on IBM’s Worldwide Management Council and IBM’s Strategy Team, a group of senior IBM executives responsible for advising, reviewing, and formulating IBM’s strategy. Mr. Chow currently serves as a non-executive director to AMD, a semiconductor company based in the United States, and also as a member of the European Advisory Committee of Bridgepoint, a British private equity company. Mr. Chow holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hong Kong.
